April 25, 2024 Project Update #9: N. Territorial Rd & Dexter Town Hall Rd Safety Improvements

Our safety improvement project at the intersection of N. Territorial Rd & Dexter Town Hall Rd in Dexter Township is making good progress. The construction schedule has been impacted by recent rainy weather. However, the contractor is working hard to complete this project in a timely manner.

Since the last update, the contractor has been able to place curb and gutter and finish all the concrete work. The contractor is finalizing the stone base for the road and expects to start asphalt paving next week. The paving will involve several steps to allow for other related work to be completed. Following the completion of paving, the contractor will begin the installation of stone shoulders and pavement markings. This safety project also includes the installation of centerline rumble strips and sign upgrades. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will be requesting the presence of additional law enforcement throughout paving to promote the safety of the road crew and to avoid damage to completed work.

As a reminder, after the completion of the asphalt pavement, the intersection of N. Territorial Rd & Dexter Town Hall Rd remains closed to the traveling public. The contractor has a significant amount of work to complete before the road can be safely opened for the public. Access is only maintained for residents who live or work within the project limits. WCRC will continue to send out updates as the project progresses

Progress is being made and we appreciate the continued patience of area residents and motorists.

Have questions about the project? Contact James Hui, Project Manager – Design & Construction, at (734) 327-6660, or via email at [email protected]
