WHERE: Macey Rd between Tuttle Hill Rd and Bunton Rd in Augusta Township

WHY: Completion of permitted work

BACKGROUND: On Saturday, April 20, 2024, Norfolk Southern re-opened Macey Rd between Tuttle Hill Rd and Bunton Rd in Augusta Township.

April 10, 2024 Road Closure with Detour: Macey Rd (Augusta Twp)

WHEN: Monday, April 15, 2024

WHERE: Macey Rd between Tuttle Hill Rd and Bunton Rd in Augusta Township

WHY: Permit – railroad work

BACKGROUND: On Monday, April 15, 2024, Norfolk Southern will close Macey Rd between Tuttle Hill Rd and Bunton Rd in Augusta Township to perform railway work.

The closure is expected to be in place for approximately six days. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

March 11, 2024 Project Update #1: Bemis Rd Paving (Augusta & Ypsilanti Twps)

During the 2024 construction season, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) plans to pave Bemis Rd between Stony Creek Rd and Hitchingham Rd in Augusta & Ypsilanti Townships. During construction, Bemis Rd will be closed to all traffic and a detour will be posted.

March 7, 2024 Daytime Road Closure: Bemis Rd (Augusta & Ypsilanti Twps)

WHEN: Monday, March 11, 2024

WHERE: Bemis Rd between Stony Creek Rd and Hitchingham Rd in Augusta & Ypsilanti Townships

WHY: Forestry work

BACKGROUND: On Monday, March 11, 2024, a contractor for the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will close Bemis Rd between Stony Creek Rd and Hitchingham Rd in Augusta & Ypsilanti Townships during daytime hours to perform forestry work.

The road will re-open at the end of each workday and remain open until work resumes the following morning.

The forestry work is expected to take approximately five days. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

February 29, 2024 Lane Restrictions: Intersection of Whittaker Rd & Willis Rd (Augusta Twp)

WHEN: Monday, March 4, 2024

WHERE: Intersection of Whittaker Rd and Willis Rd in Augusta Township

WHY: Forestry

BACKGROUND: On Monday, March 4, 2024, a contractor for the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin forestry work at the intersection of Whittaker Rd and Willis Rd in Augusta Township.

The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to lane restrictions. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.

The forestry work is expected to take approximately three days. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

During the 2024 construction season, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) plans to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Whittaker Rd and Willis Rd in Augusta Township. The intersection will be closed to all traffic during construction and a detour will be posted.

WHY: The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will hold a virtual project information meeting regarding the planned paving project for Bemis Rd in Augusta & Ypsilanti Townships.

During construction, Bemis Rd between Stony Creek Rd and Hitchingham Rd will be closed to ALL traffic and a detour will be posted. The closure is expected to be in place for approximately 12 weeks, weather pending.

The virtual public meeting will be held via Zoom on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11 a.m. There will be a brief presentation followed by time for questions from the audience. A recording of the meeting will be posted to the project web page after the meeting.
