The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will resume work on the Bemis Rd paving project between Stony Creek Rd and Hitchingham Rd in Augusta and Ypsilanti Townships, now that the necessary utility relocations essential for the project have been completed.
The Bemis Rd paving project is scheduled to begin early May 2025. WCRC and E.T. MacKenzie (ETM), the contractor awarded the project in August 2024, met in early April to finalize outstanding pre-construction items.
Portable messaging signs will provide updates as construction approaches. During construction, Bemis Rd will be closed to thru traffic between Stony Creek Rd and Hitchingham Rd with a detour posted. The closure is expected to last approximately 12 weeks, weather permitting
WCRC will provide further updates as additional information becomes available and as the project progresses.
