Platt Road between Willis and Bemis has been closed to traffic since March 1, 2018 due to pavement failure. This means that the pavement was no longer safe for motorists to travel on, the clay base was starting to come up through the potholes on the road surface.
The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) is in the process of repairing sections of the road base and will begin paving work soon. WCRC hopes to have the road open in the next couple of weeks, weather dependent. The road will remain closed to traffic until the paving can be completed.
