As of 7 a.m. this morning, many projects on county roads in Washtenaw County are on hold due to a labor dispute between the Michigan Infrastructure Transportation Association (MITA) and the Operating Engineer’s Local 324. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) is not a party to these negotiations.
This work stoppage halts all paving, and some earthwork and underground work done by contractors on county roads. On the Harris Road project, our contractor will continue with some work but will be unable to lay the final layer of asphalt until this labor dispute has ended.
