Weather Hold Up

By February 8, 2019Project Updates

The weather has made any type of construction work pretty difficult over the past two weeks. Our contractor has completed some tree clearing near Huron River Drive and in the Dexter-Huron Metropark. We’ve also recently received the necessary “Permit to Enter” from Amtrak, this allows us to schedule tree removal and safety fencing installation within the railroad right-of-way.

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, February 9th, at 11 a.m. for a ground-breaking ceremony in the Dexter-Huron Metropark to celebrate the start of this project. This event is hosted by the Huron-Clinton Metroparks, Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission (WCPARC), Washtenaw County Road Commission and Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative (HWPI ).

This event is open to the public and is family-friendly. There will be bonfires, s’mores, warm refreshments and an interpretive trail walk. Visit the HWPI website for more information.
