We have a bridge!

By October 24, 2019Project Updates

Today was a big day on the Huron River Drive segment of the Border-to-Border pathway in Scio Township – Bridge #1 was installed! Earlier today, our contractors placed the bridge structure over the Huron River. Bridge decking will be installed in the coming weeks. Our contractor will also be pouring concrete for the bridge backwalls soon.

Paving on parts of the pathway is scheduled to start next week, weather pending. In order to conduct this work, our contractor will need to work under lane closures on Huron River Drive. A separate update will be sent with the lane closure details.

While we are making good progress, this is still an active construction zone. For the safety of yourself and the work crews, please stay away from the construction zone, including bridge and boardwalk structures.

If you have questions about the construction project, please contact Jason Voigt, project manager, (313) 434-4601, [email protected].

This project is part of the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission’s Border-to-Border Trail Network in partnership with the Huron Waterloo Pathway Initiative. The Washtenaw County Road Commission is involved with this project to help administer federal funds from the Transportation Alternatives Program Grant.
