WHERE: Intersection of Whittaker Rd and Willis Rd in Augusta Township
WHY: Forestry
BACKGROUND: On Monday, March 4, 2024, a contractor for the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin forestry work at the intersection of Whittaker Rd and Willis Rd in Augusta Township.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to lane restrictions. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.
The forestry work is expected to take approximately three days. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

During the 2024 construction season, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) plans to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Whittaker Rd and Willis Rd in Augusta Township. The intersection will be closed to all traffic during construction and a detour will be posted.

WHY: The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will hold a virtual project information meeting regarding the roundabout at the intersection of Whittaker Rd and Willis Rd in Augusta Township.
During construction, the intersection of Whittaker Rd and Willis Rd will be closed to ALL traffic and a detour will be posted. The closure is expected to be in place for approximately 11 weeks, weather pending.
The virtual public meeting will be held via Zoom on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 12 p.m. There will be a brief presentation followed by time for questions from the audience. A recording of the meeting will be posted to the project web page after the meeting.
