The week of August 10, the contractor installed wingwall anchors and began backfilling over the new culvert on Warner Rd between Jewell Rd and Judd Rd in York Township. Additionally, they released the construction dam and opened the stream to flow freely through the new structure. This week, the contractor will grade Warner Rd and install the guardrail.
Warner Rd remains closed between Jewell Rd and Judd Rd. The detour will continue to be in effect, and motorists are advised to follow this route for the duration of the project.

The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) contractor recently set the new box culvert into place on Warner Road between Jewell Road and Judd Road in York Township. The next step involves constructing the headwall and wingwalls (retaining wall).
Warner Rd remains close between Jewell Rd and Judd Rd. The detour will continue to be in effect, and motorists are advised to follow this route for the duration of the project.

This week, the contractor working on behalf of the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) began road excavation in preparation for the removal of the existing culvert on Warner Rd between Jewell Rd and Judd Rd in York Township. The creek will be diverted prior to removal of the culvert. Weather-permitting, the new culvert will be lowered into position by the beginning of next week.
Following placement of the new culvert, the contractor will install wing walls. These provide support for the roadside slopes and improve water flow through the culvert. The backfill of the culvert will then begin.
Warner Rd remains closed between Jewell Rd and Judd Rd. The detour will continue to be in effect, and motorists are advised to follow this route for the duration of the project.

WHY: Forestry
BACKGROUND: On Monday, March 23, 2026, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will be performing forestry work on Warner Rd between Bemis Rd and US-12 in Pittsfield and York Townships.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to intermittent lane restrictions. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.
The forestry work is expected to take approximately five days to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
