This week, the contractor for the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) laid the final layer of hot mix asphalt on Metty Dr. between Jackson Rd and the cul-de-sac in Scio Township. Crews recently placed aggregate stone shoulders.

The contractor for the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) are crushing and shaping (pulverizing) the existing surface on Metty Dr. between Jackson Rd and the cul-de-sac in Scio Township. They will start placing the leveling course (first layer) of asphalt and the wearing course (top layer) of asphalt, this week. All work is weather permitting.

WHY: Road resurfacing
BACKGROUND: On Monday, September 30, 2024, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a resurfacing project on Metty Dr between Jackson Rd and the cul-de-sac in Scio Township.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to daily lane restrictions.
The road improvements are expected to take approximately two weeks to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

Motorists can anticipate lane restrictions while the contactor is crushing and shaping the existing road, placing the leveling course (first layer) of asphalt and the wearing course (top layer) of asphalt throughout the project limits, weather permitting. The final phase is placing aggregate (stone) shoulders and pavement markings. The project is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete.
