We are slowly making progress on addressing the artesian condition discovered earlier this Fall. In November, Spartan Specialties, our specialty subcontractor, successfully installed a “piezometer” well, allowing us to monitor the artesian flow.
The contractor also installed two well points just outside of the steel cofferdam enclosure in the northwest corner. We plan to use these pumps to direct the water away from our work.
You may have noticed that this effort required the construction of a temporary access road along the north side of the project. The temporary access will be removed once we complete the artesian-related work.
Unfortunately, this type of work is slow. Please know that we are working as hard as we can to remedy this difficult situation.
