WHAT: Public Information Meeting regarding the Harris Road Improvement Project planned for the 2018 construction season

BACKGROUND: The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 6 pm at Ypsilanti Township Fire Department Main Station at 222 S Ford Blvd regarding improvements to Harris Road. The meeting will include a brief presentation at 6 pm and will be followed by an open house format, providing citizens with the opportunity to discuss the proposed project with WCRC staff.
The Harris Road improvements will include the reconstruction of the roadway between Michigan Avenue (US-12) and Holmes Road. The new two lane roadway will include bike lanes, concrete curb, driveways, sidewalk, street lights, green infrastructure such as rain gardens, and a roundabout at the Harris Road and Cross Street intersection. A follow-up public information meeting will take place in the spring of 2018 to provide final construction details such as start dates, projected duration of road closures and detour routes.
