Prospect Rd Project Announcement

The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) plans to replace a culvert and resurface Prospect Rd between Vreeland Rd and M-153 in Superior Township. The estimated cost of this project is $350,000, which is funded through Four-Year Road and Non-Motorized Path Millage and Michigan Transportation Funds (MTF).

Motorists will experience traffic impacts beginning Monday, September 18, on Prospect Rd between Vreeland Rd and Cherry Hill Rd. WCRC crews will begin routine shoulder maintenance and drainage improvements. Once this work is complete, crews will remove the existing culvert south of Cherry Hill Rd. Drivers will not be able to cross the culvert location on Prospect Rd for approximately three weeks. However, WCRC will maintain access only for residents who live or work within the project limits during construction. The official detour will guide traffic only on paved roads.

Finally, a contractor for WCRC will resurface Prospect Rd between Vreeland Rd and M-153. WCRC will send out updates as the project progresses. All dates are tentative and subject to change based on weather conditions and scheduling.
