Project Update: Delivery!

By August 24, 2023Project Updates

Bridge materials have arrived for the D3 section of the Border-to-Border (B2B) trail along the Huron River in Scio Township.

The prefabricated pieces of the steel pedestrian bridge were delivered to the project area on August 16th. The four pieces ultimately will be bolted together to make a single span bridge over the Huron River. Unfortunately, the timing for the bridge erection is unknown. The contractor continues to await approvals from Amtrak before they can build the bridge abutments and place the bridge.

As a reminder, for the safety of the public and workers, please refrain from entering the project site or climbing on to the bridge pieces. It is an active construction zone and is not open for public use.
