Construction on the Bemis Rd at Whittaker Rd roundabout in Augusta & Ypsilanti Townships is going well!
Over the past week, our contractor has been clearing brush throughout the project limits and has removed the existing pavement and topsoil of the intersection. The contractor has also begun installing the underground storm sewer and expects this work to continue for the next couple of weeks. Once this work is completed, the contractor will begin placing road base material.
As a reminder, the intersection of Bemis Rd and Whittaker Rd is CLOSED to all traffic for the safety of the public and construction workers. Please refrain from entering the project limits, as it is an active construction zone. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will continue to send out updates as the project progresses.
