A major upgrade is taking shape at the border of Northfield and Salem Townships. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) and its contractors have officially completed all major concrete installation at the intersection of Dixboro Road and Pontiac Trail.
The intersection now features brand-new curbs, gutters, traffic-separating splitter islands, and a new center island designed to improve safety.
With the concrete cured, construction is shifting gears. Crews are now preparing the heavy stone base of the roadway, the final foundational step before paving crews arrive to lay down the fresh, smooth asphalt surface.
The intersection remains closed to all traffic, so please follow the posted detour. WCRC will continue to send out updates as the project progresses.
