On August 11, the contractor working on behalf of the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) closed Macon Rd between James Dr and the city of Saline in Saline Township for resurfacing. Since closing the road, WCRC has replaced numerous culverts and the contractor has completed the pulverizing (crushing), shaping, and compaction of the existing asphalt pavement on Macon Rd. The resulting crushed material will serve as the base for the new hot mix asphalt (HMA) surface.
Macon Rd between James Dr and the city of Saline in Saline Township remains closed to traffic. Please continue to follow the posted detour.
