On May 4, 2026, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) closed Island Lake Rd between Dexter-Pinckney Rd and Dexter-Chelsea Rd in Webster and Scio Townships for intersection widening and utility work. Crews are currently working at the Island Lake Rd at Dexter-Pinckney Rd intersection preparing pavement sections, relocating water mains, and installing stormwater structures. The City of Dexter is also completing water main improvements at Island Lake Rd and Dexter-Chelsea Rd.
What’s next:
- Work will continue at the Island Lake Rd and Dexter-Pinckney Rd intersection installing curb lines and adding turn lanes.
- Work has begun on Island Lake Rd between Dexter-Chelsea Rd and Dexter-Pinckney Rd.
- Underground stormwater structures are being installed and pavement is being removed.
Island Lake Rd between Dexter-Pinckney Rd and Dexter-Chelsea Rd remains closed to all traffic (vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians). Please follow the posted detours.
