Project Update # 1: Holmes Rd Resurfacing (Ypsilanti Twp)

By October 17, 2025Project Updates

On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, a contractor working on behalf of the Washtenaw County Road Commission began concrete work by replacing localized sidewalk ramps and curbs on Holmes Rd between Ford Blvd and Michigan Ave in Ypsilanti Township. This work will be completed before the asphalt resurfacing work begins.

What’s next: In the next few weeks, the milling and resurfacing of Holmes Rd will take place. New pavement markings will then be installed. During the work, traffic will be maintained with lane closures and flagging operations.

This work is funded by the 2025-2028 Roads and Non-Motorized Millage, supported by a vote of the Washtenaw County public in the fall of 2024.
