On May 11th, the Cherry Hill Rd Bridge over Fleming Creek, between Gale Rd and Plymouth Rd, was closed by the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC). In the first week, the contractor mobilized construction equipment. During the weeks of May 18 the and 25th, crews removed the existing bridge railing, deck, and beams.
Next Steps:
- Concrete placement to prepare the existing foundation (bridge abutments).
- Installation of new bridge beams spanning Fleming Creek.
- Construction of the new concrete bridge deck on the new beams.
Cherry Hill Rd remains closed to all traffic; please follow the detour signs. WCRC will provide ongoing updates.
