Today is another big day at the intersection of Pontiac Tr and N. Territorial Rd in Salem Township – it’s paving day! Our contractor is placing the second layer of asphalt – often called the top course – on the roundabout. They will begin paving driveway and private road approaches within the work zone tomorrow.
Once paving has been completed, we still need to complete the following items before the intersection can be reopened:
- Turf restoration in areas disturbed by construction
- Gravel shoulders
- Permanent signs
- Pavement markings
- General clean-up
In the meantime, the intersection remains closed to ALL through traffic. Access for those who live on Dutch Hill Dr and those traveling to businesses located at the intersection will be provided throughout construction but NO traffic will be allowed to traverse the intersection itself. Please follow the posted detour or take an alternate route.
