October 16: More Changes from the State

Good Afternoon,

This week brought a flurry of new rules and procedures from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and MIOSHA.

While many of these orders are similar to how we have been operating all summer, there are some changes that will impact our daily practices. We have already made some modifications to our Preparedness, Response and Moving Forward Plan,  and we are working with Washtenaw County and MCRCSIP to better understand what all of this will mean for us. I expect to have more modifications to our plan and will share them with you sometime next week. In the meantime, please continue to wear your face covering, practice social distancing and wash your hands frequently.

This topic was discussed at our virtual Supervisors Meeting this morning. Another topic discussed was face coverings in parking garages. To clarify – face coverings are required in WCRC parking garages unless you are a mechanic working in your assigned workspace. Click here to review the meeting summary for more information. If you have any questions about the discussion, please reach out to your supervisor, director or me.

I know more uncertainty and tightening of regulations are the last things any of us want. Please know, we are doing our best to keep up with all the changes and then communicate with you. At the end of the day, your safety remains our top priority.

Finally, we are in the midst of Dry Run and, more importantly, thinking about Pancake Breakfast. Gathering as a group will clearly be a challenge but we have been discussing various options and expect to have more news to share with you next week.

As always, I hope you have a safe and relaxing weekend.

Thank you,

Sheryl
