Huron River Dr: Foresty? Check. Drainage? Ongoing.

By October 21, 2022Project Updates

Despite a very rainy few days, we continue to make progress preparing for the Huron River Dr Road Resurfacing Project on the border of Dexter and Webster Townships.

Our crews completed tree trimming and forestry earlier this week. Drainage work is ongoing. We continue to work on berming (removing the grass “curb” that builds up along the road shoulder) and we’re planning to replace a few crossroad culverts early next week. During the crossroad culvert work, no traffic will be able to cross over the culvert location.

We hope to start pulverizing the road surface later next week with paving to follow. Once started, paving is expected to take approximately one week. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions and contractor scheduling. During the road resurfacing part of this project, Huron River Dr will be closed to through traffic and a detour will be posted (click here for the detour map).

If you have any questions, please contact Mike Bernbeck, project manager, (734) 327-6654, or via email at bernbeckm@wcroads.org.
