Geddes Rd: Paving will Resume Soon (Hopefully)

Unfortunately, due to the rain, there is a brief pause in the paving action on the Geddes Rd in Ann Arbor and Superior Townships. We were able to get some of the second layer of asphalt placed over the weekend and we hope to start paving again tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

Meanwhile, our guardrail contractor is working on the new guardrail section today. They will be back later this week to finish it.

Once paving and guardrail are completed, we need to place the gravel shoulders and pavement markings before we can reopen the road.

Geddes Rd remains closed to through traffic. People who live or work within the project limits will be provided access to their properties during paving but we ask that they travel west to east on paving days. For example, if your house is on Geddes Rd near Hickman Rd, enter the work zone from N. Dixboro Rd and travel east to your home.

FYI – As you may know, DTE Gas is building a gas inspection station near the intersection of Dixboro Rd and Geddes Rd. The next stage of their construction will include impacts to traffic at the intersection. Right now, they are tentatively planning to start that work in mid-May and it will last through mid-June. We will provide more information before the lane closures are placed.
