Geddes Rd: You Never Know What You Will Find

By April 20, 2021Project Updates

Despite today’s snowflakes, we are making steady progress on the Geddes Rd Resurfacing Project in Ann Arbor and Superior Townships.

We finished tree trimming yesterday and we continue to make drainage improvements. Later this week, we will replace crossroad culverts on Geddes Rd near Gale Rd and Hickman Rd. During this work, the road in that specific area will be closed to ALL traffic for a few hours. People who live or work on Geddes Rd between N. Dixboro Rd and Superior Rd will be rerouted during these brief closures.

The pavement pulverizing machine also started its work this morning. Despite a short delay (when the equipment found an old railroad rail buried underground), we made good progress today. We expect the pulverizer to be on site for a few more days working along Geddes Rd. Once the road has been completely pulverized, the road bed will be graded to prepare for paving. We hope to start paving later next week if the weather cooperates.

Geddes Rd between N. Dixboro Rd and Superior Rd remains closed to all through traffic and a detour is posted.
