Working on the Final Touches

By October 22, 2019Project Updates

We’re working on the finishing touches to our safety project at the intersection of Ridge Road and Hack Road in York Township. Our subcontractor placed the high friction wearing surface on Ridge Road last week. This surface is intended to improve the traction for vehicles navigating the curve. Last week our contractor also installed the mumble strips along the centerline and shoulders to alert a driver drifting from the lane.

Restoration and permanent pavement markings are scheduled for this week. The installation of permanent signs is scheduled for the week of October 28. All this work is weather dependent. Based on the nature of the work, and to promote the safety of road workers and motorists, the intersection will remain closed until these remaining items are completed.

We are hoping to have the intersection reopened to traffic by the first week of November, as long as the weather continues to cooperate.
