It has been a very busy summer on the two historic truss bridges in Washtenaw County – the E. Delhi Rd Bridge and the Maple (Foster) Rd Bridge. Here’s the latest update on both of these structures.
E. Delhi Rd Bridge (Scio Twp): We will be closing the E. Delhi Rd Bridge for a few hours tomorrow, August 30, in the morning for a routine annual inspection. No traffic will be allowed to traverse the bridge during this inspection. The bridge will reopen once the inspection has been completed.
Maple (Foster) Rd Bridge (Ann Arbor Twp): Last week, we reopened the Maple (Foster) Rd Bridge after completing much of the planned rehabilitation work. We have a few remaining items that will be completed later this fall, including the installation of a dry hydrant for emergency responders to use at the northern approach and paving of the southern road approach to the bridge. Unfortunately, since this is a one-lane bridge, we will have to close the bridge again for short times to complete this work. We will provide advance notice of this closure via email to project subscribers.
