Over the past two weeks, our contractors have made significant progress on the reconstruction of Grove Road between Margarita Street and Harris Road in Ypsilanti Township. They have completed the storm sewer work, including the new outlet to Ford Lake, and the stone aggregate base has been placed in the curb and roadway areas. In addition, the concrete curb has also been constructed.

There’s a lot work of planned this week, if the weather cooperates, including, guardrail installation, final grading of the stone aggregate road base, and the first layer of asphalt paving.

Grove Road remains closed between Margarita Street and Harris Road to facilitate this construction. Residents who live within the work zone will continue to have access to their homes, all other traffic must follow the posted detour or seek an alternate route. We are still hoping to have the road reopened to traffic by the end of October, as long as the weather continues to cooperate.
