Cavanaugh Lake Rd: Last Stretch!

By November 4, 2022Project Updates

We’re finishing up our last stretch of work on Cavanaugh Lake Rd in Sylvan Township next week! On Monday, November 7, our crews and the railroad company will be returning to finish the remaining resurfacing work near the railroad crossing.

Once started, this milling and paving are expected to take approximately one week. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions and contractor scheduling. The road will remain open during this stage of the project but there will be lane closures and a flagger to accommodate the work.

If you have any questions regarding this work, please contact Mike Bernbeck, project manager, at (734) 327-6654, or via email at [email protected]

P.S. We recently learned that Amtrak has some additional railroad crossing maintenance scheduled at this crossing in the coming weeks. As of right now, they are planning to close the crossing to all traffic for a few days starting Monday, November 14. This work is unrelated to our resurfacing work and unfortunately, couldn’t be completed at the same time as our road work. We will send out another update as we get closer to the start of Amtrak’s work.
