Building a Temporary Bridge

By July 23, 2019Project Updates

Work continues on the Huron River Drive D2 Segment of the B2B trail project in Scio Township. Our contractor is making steady progress on the boardwalk areas throughout the project. They are also installing a temporary bridge across the Huron River. River traffic will continue to be squeezed through channels as this work progresses.

Once the temporary bridge is in place, the river restrictions will be lifted until the final bridges are ready to be placed. When this time comes, there will be short closures of the river (announced in advance) while the bridges are placed.

If you have questions about the construction project, please contact Jason Voigt, project manager, (313) 434-4601, jvoigt@wadetrim.com.

This project is part of the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission’s Border-to-Border Trail Network in partnership with the Huron Waterloo Pathway Initiative. The Washtenaw County Road Commission is involved with this project to help administer federal funds from the Transportation Alternatives Program Grant.
