The resurfacing project on McKernan Rd between M-52 and the end of the pavement in Sylvan Township is complete. The contractor for the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) has placed the two layers of hot mix asphalt, aggregate (stone) shoulders and pavement markings.

WHY: Road resurfacing
BACKGROUND: On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a resurfacing project on McKernan Rd between the cul-de-sac and M-52 in Sylvan Township.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to daily lane restrictions.
The road improvements are expected to take approximately two weeks to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
