BACKGROUND: On Monday, September 28, 2026, a contractor working on behalf of the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will close 6 Mile Rd between Raphael St and Turnberry Dr in Northfield Township for a culvert replacement.
The culvert replacement is expected to be completed in approximately five weeks. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather condition.
The road will be closed to all through traffic. Residents living within the project limits will have access. WCRC encourages drivers to use the detour.

WHY: Boom mowing
BACKGROUND: On Monday, March 23, 2026, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will be boom mowing on 6 Mile Rd between Turnberry Dr (near railroad tracks) and Nollar Rd in Northfield Township.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to intermittent lane restrictions. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.
The boom mowing is expected to take approximately five days to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
