WHERE: Grove Road between Margarita Street and S. Harris Road in Ypsilanti Township
WHY: Sidewalk repairs
BACKGROUND: On Tuesday, May 26, 2020, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) and its contractor will repair sidewalk along Grove Road between Margarita Street and S. Harris Road in Ypsilanti Township.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but the eastbound curb lane will be closed to traffic and the sidewalk will be closed to pedestrians.
The repairs are necessary after some settling occurred under the sidewalk during the winter. WCRC is re-inspecting the area to determine the underlying causes of the sidewalk settling but believes the emergency repairs (retaining wall, water outlet, road repair) made last year are performing as designed.
The work is expected to take approximately one day. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
