Safety Improvement Update: Six Mile Rd in Salem Twp

The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) is improving safety at the intersection of Six Mile Road and Currie Road in Salem Township.

The intersection of Six Mile Road and Currie Road in Salem Township is now an all-way stop, also known as a four-way stop. The intersection was recently converted from a two-way stop with Six Mile Rd traffic having the right-of-way.

Based upon the Michigan Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MMUTCD) this intersection met the criteria to become a multi-way stop. The modification will improve the safety of the intersection. Motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution through the intersection since the change has been implemented.

If you have any questions concerning his project, contact Michele Ford, Sr. Project Manager – Traffic & Safety, at (734) 327-6652, or via email at [email protected].
