BACKGROUND: Starting on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, in the afternoon, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a preventative maintenance chip seal project on Willis Rd between US-23 and Rawsonville Rd in York and Augusta Townships.

The work on Willis Rd is expected to be completed by Tuesday, May 25. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

WCRC also plans to wrap up its chip seal projects on Whittaker Rd and Willow Rd later today.

Once the work is completed, drivers are advised to lower their speeds to 35 mph while the stone settles.

WCRC will return to this area in a few weeks to apply a fog seal on top of the chip seal and place permanent pavement markings.
