Road Work Advisory: Austin Rd, Sharon Hollow Rd (Manchester Twp)

WHEN: Starting on Monday, May 16, 2022

WHERE: – Austin Rd between the county line and the Village of Manchester limits in Manchester Township

– Sharon Hollow Rd between Herman Rd and Austin Rd in Manchester Township

WHY: Preventative maintenance – chip seal

BACKGROUND: Starting on Monday, May 16, 2022, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a preventative maintenance chip seal project on the following roads:

Lane restrictions: Austin Rd between the county line and the Village of Manchester limits in Manchester Township. Austin Rd will not be closed but delays are likely due to lane restrictions. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.

Daytime road closure: Sharon Hollow Rd between Herman Rd and Austin Rd. Access will be provided to emergency services, school buses and residents who live, work or own property within the work zone. Sharon Hollow Rd will reopen at the end of each day and remain open until work resumes the following morning.

The work on these roads is expected to be completed within approximately two days. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

Once the work is completed, drivers are advised to lower their speeds to 35 mph while the stone settles.

WCRC will return to this area in a few weeks to apply a fog seal on top of the chip seal and place permanent pavement markings.
