Road Opening – Bunton Rd

On Thursday, May 5, 2016, the Washtenaw County Road Commission re-opened Bunton Rd between Willis Rd and Judd Rd in Augusta Township. Steel plates have been installed over a failed culvert on Bunton Road, over the Swan Creek and Pliney Harris Drain. A weight restriction of 40 tons has been imposed.
The steel plates are a temporary measure as the Road Commission, Water Resources Commission and Augusta Township develop a plan and secure funding to replace the failed culvert.
The Washtenaw County Road Commission offers our sincere thanks to the area residents, farmers, motorists, postal services, emergency services and school districts who displayed a great deal of patience during the closure of Bunton Road.
