Road Closure: Moon Road and Bemis and Moon Roundabout (York and Pittsfield Townships)

WHEN: Starting Thursday, November 1, 2018

WHERE: Moon Road between Willis Road and Bemis Road in York Township; and the Moon Road and Bemis Road Roundabout on the border of York and Pittsfield Townships

WHY: Road resurfacing and pavement markings

BACKGROUND: The planned work on Moon Road and at the Moon Road and Bemis Road roundabout has been postponed due to weather. It will now start on Thursday, November 1, 2018.

The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) and its contractor will close Moon Road between Willis Road and Bemis Road in York Township; and the new roundabout at Moon Road and Bemis Road on the border of Pittsfield and York Townships.

During the closure, WCRC will finish paving Moon Rd and apply pavement markings within the roundabout. The road and roundabout are expected to reopen Friday, November 2 in the afternoon. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions and other circumstances.

Residents and property owners, who live internal to the project limits on Moon Road, will be provided access to their home or business but the roundabout will be closed to all traffic.

DETOUR: The posted detour will be Willis Road to Platt Road to Michigan Avenue (U.S. 12).
