WHERE: Island Lake Rd between Dexter-Chelsea Rd and Dexter-Pinckney Rd in Scio and Webster Townships
WHY: Roundabout construction and intersection improvements
BACKGROUND: On Monday, May 4, 2026, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will close Island Lake Rd between Dexter-Chelsea Rd and Dexter-Pinckney Rd in Scio and Webster Townships to construct a roundabout at Dexter-Chelsea Rd and construct intersection improvements at Dexter-Pinckney Rd.
The work is expected to be completed, and the roads will reopen to traffic mid-September. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
The road will be closed to all through traffic. Businesses located within the closure will remain open with one access point. A&W will have access from Dexter-Chelsea Rd only and the Westridge subdivision will only have access to Dexter-Pinckney Rd.
