WHERE: Holmes Rd between Ford Blvd and Michigan Ave in Ypsilanti Township
WHY: Road resurfacing
BACKGROUND: On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, a contractor for the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) began sidewalk ramp and curb replacements on Holmes Rd between Ford Blvd and Michigan Ave in Ypsilanti Township in preparation for the asphalt road resurfacing.
The roadwork has been extended and improvements are expected to take approximately three weeks to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays during the milling and paving are likely due to lane restrictions with flagging operations. During this time, WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.
