WHAT: The Washtenaw County Road Commission will host an information meeting to inform the public about the Scio Church Road and Wagner Road intersection improvement project.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Those interested to learn how the project may impact their commute or those who desire to attain information about the project. WCRC representatives will be present to provide information and answer questions.
WHEN: Thursday, May 4, 2017, start time 6:30 p.m.

WHY: A compact urban roundabout will be built at the intersection of Scio Church and Wagner Roads to reduce peak period congestion that occurs at this intersection. The roundabout will be similar to the one built at Ann Arbor-Saline Road and Textile Road in 2016. The project was awarded by MDOT to D & R Earthmoving, LLC at the bid price of $670,668.00.
The project is scheduled to begin on or after June 19, 2017. Construction is expected last between six and eight weeks. The Scio Church and Wagner intersection will be closed to all users except those who live or own property inside the job site. The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office will likely be monitoring the intersection and issuing citations as warranted to those drivers who violate the road closure. As a reminder, per state law traffic fines are double for road construction violations. Additional points can also be attached to your driving record for violations in a work zone.
