On October 1, 2025, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) closed Earhart Rd between Plymouth Rd and Whitehall Dr in Ann Arbor Township for an asphalt resurfacing project. Between Whitehall Dr and the M-14 overpass, traffic is being maintained through the work zone with lane closures and flagging operations.
Cadillac Asphalt, a Michigan Department of Transportation contractor working on behalf of the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC), milled (removed) the surface of the existing asphalt on Earhart Rd between Plymouth Rd and M-14.
Asphalt paving operations started on October 6, 2025. The paving work is progressing from Plymouth Rd to the north.
Looking ahead: when the asphalt paving is complete, pavement markings and stone shoulders will be placed along Earhart Rd.
Earhart Rd is expected to be reopened later this week. Remaining work will be completed with lane and shoulder closures, with flagging operations, as needed.
WCRC will continue to send updates as the project progresses.
