October 8: The Start of Dry Run

Good morning,

It certainly has been a dreary week but we have still managed to make it a productive one. A big thanks to everyone involved in the Wagner Rd project – completing an intersection project at Waters Rd while also seal coating a major section of Wagner Rd was a massive coordination effort and it turned out great!

It is also officially time to kick-off Dry Run. Dry Run is our annual process of preparing people and equipment for winter. Each fall, it is an all-hands-on-deck effort in the operations department, especially for our mechanics and shop. Dry Run also impacts our engineering and administration departments as they wrap up summer construction projects and prepare for winter work. Due to our current COVID safety protocols, Dry Run will be conducted the same way we did in 2020 – it will be spread out over a longer period, focusing on individual vehicles instead of crew-by-crew. Thank you in advance for all your hard work during Dry Run.

Fingers crossed that we might see a little sun this weekend, so we can all enjoy a little time outside and the summer-like weather.

Take care and stay safe,

Sheryl
