Good Afternoon,
Last Friday, the Michigan Supreme Court struck down the statute under which Governor Whitmer has issued many executive orders during the coronavirus pandemic. We are working with our partners to sort out exactly what this means for us.
In the meantime, we will continue to follow the safety protocols established in our Preparedness, Response and Moving Forward Plan. We will refine this plan as needed.
As a reminder, in short, this means:
- Continue social distancing and limiting close contact between employees (share vehicles only if absolutely necessary).
- Masks or face coverings must be worn:
- Inside a WCRC facility whenever an employee leaves their assigned workspace (office, cubical, vehicle).
- When entering an “enclosed public space” during the workday. For example, a grocery store or gas station.
- When proper social distancing cannot be maintained on a job site.
- Stay home if you are not feeling well.
- Practice good hygiene throughout the day.
Unfortunately, this ruling has brought up more questions than answers, but I’m confident we will work through it.
I’ll provide more information once it becomes available.
Thank you,
Sheryl
