November 16: “Pause to Save Lives”

Good Afternoon,

As you may know, last night, Governor Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Service announced additional epidemic restrictions called a “Pause to Save Lives.”

While this order is not a stay-at-home order like we saw this past spring, it does further restrict some activities from November 18 – December 8 (click here for graphic).

The biggest impact for our organization is the requirement to work remote. Due to this order, many of our office staff will be instructed to work remotely during the next 3 weeks. Employees who are working from home will be available by phone, email or Teams during normal business hours. Some key functions like HR will continue to have an in-office presence.

With that being said, I know that the vast majority of you are not able to work from home. If you are still reporting in-person, you will be required to follow the protocol we have had in place all fall:

  1. Answer screening questions before reporting to work
  2. Wear a face mask per our updated Face Mask Protocol
  3. Practice social distancing
  4. Wash hands frequently

I know this is frustrating news to hear, especially as we head into the holiday next week.

Please continue to do everything needed to keep yourself healthy and safe.

Thank you,

Sheryl
