New Traffic Signal – Carpenter Rd

By September 28, 2017Road Advisories

WHEN: September 29, 2017

WHERE: Carpenter Road at Carpenter Place in Pittsfield Township

WHY: New Traffic Signal

BACKGROUND: A contractor for the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) has been working on a new traffic signal on Carpenter Road at Carpenter Place for several weeks. On Friday, September 29, 2017, the signal will be activated and flash yellow on Carpenter Road to help motorists get familiar with the signal at this new location. On Monday, October 2, 2017 the signal will start to operate normally with red, yellow and green indications. Please be advised that all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

The signal was installed to aid pedestrians to cross the busy five-lane cross-section of Carpenter Road. The signal will stay green on Carpenter Road until pedestrian traffic is present.

To maintain the safety of road crews, motorists are asked to be especially mindful of construction equipment and personnel and reduce speeds accordingly. The Road Commission thanks you for your patience as these improvements are completed.
