Good Afternoon,
So far, April showers have not exactly brought May flowers but I remain hopeful. Thankfully, the weather cooperated enough to allow us a few paving days this week and we should be completing our first millage project in the very near future. In addition, we are scheduled to start our seal coat program on Monday with over 100 miles planned. Not bad for early May!
We officially kicked off the construction season earlier today with a virtual public meeting that highlighted much of the work to be done throughout the county this year. We had approximately 30 people in attendance who had a handful of questions about our projects. Thanks to everyone involved in planning that event. Hopefully, our local officials and the general public now have a better understanding of our work this year.
As you may be aware, a new state mask order went into effect today. While it is encouraging that we are starting to see some loosening of restrictions, there does not appear to be anything in the new order that affects us as an organization. So please continue to wear your masks, wash your hands and social distance.
Last week I shared that the governor announced the “Mi Vacc to Normal” plan which allows in-person work for all business sectors two weeks after 55% of Michiganders 16 years and older have received at least one dose of vaccine. We continue to inch closer to this milestone and are looking at return-to-office recommendations for best practices on how to bring all of us safely back into the office.
Once again, thank you for all that you do. Please have a safe and enjoyable weekend. And remember to give all the moms in your life a big hug – in person or virtually.
