May 30: Seal Coat, Projects Update & ROW Award Nominations

Good afternoon,

As we head into the month of June, our operations department is ready to begin the 2024 seal coat program, which will start next week! This year’s seal coat program will extend the service life of nearly 30 lane miles of roadway. The work is scheduled to be completed by July, pending weather conditions. A huge thank you to Ken Harris and Jason Clouse for their planning of this program. Additionally, crews began moving salt from the old dome to the new material storage building in the main yard (see pictures below).

A lot of paving for intersection projects this week! The N. Territorial Rd & Dexter Town Hall Rd safety project is nearing completion as the top course of asphalt is being paved. The contractor for the safety project at N. Territorial Rd & Webster Church Rd is paving the asphalt leveling course on the south side of the intersection. The roundabout at the intersection of Miller Rd & Zeeb Rd is also paving the top course of asphalt. Also, the closure for the proposed roundabout at the Whittaker Rd & Willis Rd intersection will begin next week.

Lastly, I would like to remind everyone that nominations for the Recognize-Our-Workforce (ROW) Award for the second quarter of 2024 are due by June 30. This employee appreciation program is a great way to showcase the hard work of your fellow co-workers. To submit a nomination, please visit our employee central website here

Enjoy your weekend,

Matt
