Good afternoon,
We had a busy Tuesday with both the Board working session and regular meeting. During the working session, Nicole Peterson provided an overview of WCRC’s MOD factor, the employee engagement survey, as well as our recruiting and onboarding process. James Hui provided an update to the Board on culvert projects funded through the Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner’s stormwater grant program. Many thanks to James and other WCRC staff involved with these culvert replacements. Finally, Adam Lape provided the Board with an overview of unpaved road maintenance.
During the Board’s regular meeting, township agreements were approved for Bridgewater, Freedom, Lima, Lodi, Lyndon, Manchester, Northfield, Scio, and Webster Townships. These agreements included many road projects, one of them discussed was Jackson Rd in Scio Township. During the construction of Jackson Rd, a temporary Traffic Control Order (TCO) was approved to reduce the speed limit on Jackson Rd between Jackson Industrial Dr and Myrtle Ave from 50 MPH to 40 MPH. Additionally, traffic calming projects were approved for Bradley Ave, George Ave, and Smith Ave in Ypsilanti Township.
As a reward for the fantastic 0.654 MOD factor we recently received from CRASIF, WCRC will close the office on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 (the day before Thanksgiving) and all staff will be given the day off with pay. Please continue to keep safety at the forefront of all we do.
I hope you all enjoy the long weekend and the Memorial Day holiday!
Matt
