Good Afternoon,
It has been another productive week of our 2021 Construction Season. We continue our chip seal operations in District 5 and we are making steady progress on all of our major projects so far. Please keep up the great work on all of our maintenance and construction work!
On the COVID-side of things, new case rates and hospitalizations continue to fall while vaccination rates continue to grow – great news! We are still waiting for updated mask guidance from the Washtenaw County Health Department and MIOSHA (expected to be published by MIOSHA on Monday). Our current mask protocol will remain in effect until we receive further guidance from the state and county.
Per the State’s Vacc to Normal Plan, the remote work requirement ends this week. Starting Monday, May 24, if you have been working remotely and want to start coming into the office, you are allowed to do so. This is completely voluntary but please talk with your supervisor this week to coordinate schedules if you plan to make any changes. All staff reporting in-person will be required to follow our current safety guidelines regarding face masks, social distancing and gathering.
As I mentioned last week, we are working to draft a flexible work policy and plan to bring that before our board in June with an effective date in early-July. More to come soon.
I remain hopeful that we are nearing the end of this pandemic. Please continue to do your part and if you haven’t gotten your vaccine yet, I encourage you to do so.
Have a great summer-like weekend!
Take care and stay safe,
Sheryl
